Jibaja: "Freedom is our new concept"

Alonso Jibaja, BetConstruct’s Regional Director based in Peru, describes the experience of ICE 2016 as well as the new BetConstruct products announced during the show.

How would you characterise the event?
It is one of the main trade shows in the gaming calendar, and as expected it was very busy. We expected to have the opportunity to show our solutions to a number of business executives, and we are very satisfied with the results obtained by our firm during the show. We had a different stand than in previous years which reflected our new philosophy, "freedom" as the main theme. Our new tools enable our partners to have the freedom to do the best for their companies.

What has been the impact of your recent award?
We are very happy. At the 2016 International Gaming Awards we were nominated in three categories: "Innovator of the Year", "iGaming Software Supplier" and "Technology Provider/Supplier" and we were awarded the latter. It means a lot to us because it recognizes all the effort made in 2015. The previous year we won the 'Innovator of the Year' category, and now we have demonstrated the overall strength of our technology solutions.

What explains the strength of BetConstruct over time?
We are strong because we put emphasis on customer service. We are close to our partners and offer them the best solutions to their particular needs. We are also constantly innovating in our product portfolio.

What innovations were announced during the London show?
This year, BetConstruct made a major announcement that the Gaming Management System component of the Spring platform will be launched as an Open Source platform during 2016. This will be the first open source gaming platform available in the industry. This announcement will allow gaming operators greater freedom with regard to their technical infrastructure, leading to greater choice, reduced costs and increased flexibility in providing improved player experiences.

Why have you, a Latin American representative, attended this European tradeshow?
Over the years with advances in technology, markets have globalized, meaning that you must think globally as well as regionally. Latin America has evolved greatly and that is the reason why many operators from South America travel to ICE to learn more from their global industry peers. Many potential clients were looking for partners that can meet their local needs during this exhibition, and we were there to offer our help. To this end we have strengthening the level of local customer service we offer in the South American geography with the recent opening of a second regional office in Uruguay, led by Anna Shahbazyan. The offices in Uruguay and Peru, will work together to provide the best service and meet the growing demand in our region.
